The Drive from Abu Dhabi to Sur
Sur, on Oman's eastern coast, is known for its dhow-building yards and as the base for the Ras Al Jinz turtle reserve and Wadi Shab. The drive from Abu Dhabi takes in the Al Ain and Al Buraimi crossing and then follows the Omani roads toward the coast, a full day on the road. Turtle viewing happens in the dark hours, so many guests stay a night in Sur.
