From the Airport to Abu Dhabi

A road transfer from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi is a long day through Saudi Arabia, across the causeway, the Eastern Province and the Batha crossing into the UAE. It suits families arriving by air who prefer to travel together with their luggage, and business visitors avoiding a connecting flight, over about 750 km. Set off soon after landing in the morning so the Batha crossing falls in daylight.

By road it is about 750 km and usually takes 8 to 11 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on E11 and Highway 95. The road passes Al Khobar and Dhahran.
