From the Airport to Bahrain

Many visitors to Bahrain land at King Fahd International Airport and drive from there, whether for business, family or a weekend of shopping. The route runs about 100 km through Dhahran and Al Khobar to the King Fahd Causeway, and the causeway crossing has its own stops on the way. Friday and Saturday afternoons are the busiest times on the bridge.

By road it is about 100 km and usually takes 2 to 3 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on Highway 95 and Highway 605. The road passes Dhahran and Al Khobar.

King Fahd International Airport serves Dammam and the wider Eastern Province, and lies northwest of the city. Travellers to Al Khobar, Dhahran and Jubail use it, and it is the usual airport for the energy sector.
