From the Airport to Dubai

Many travellers land in Muscat and drive straight on to Dubai for business, family visits or a city break. The road follows the Batinah coast through Sohar and then climbs towards the Hajar Mountains, where the border crossing at Hatta brings you into the UAE. The distance is about 400 km, and a morning start usually suits the evening arrival in Dubai.

By road it is about 400 km and usually takes 5 to 7 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on E44. The road passes Sohar.

Muscat International Airport serves Muscat from Seeb, west of the city centre along the coast. It is the main international gateway to Oman for business, tourism and connecting flights.
