The Drive from Taif to Kuwait City

This is the long northern route from Taif to Kuwait City, going through Hafr Al Batin and the Al Ruqi / Al Salmi crossing, with Al Jahra on the approach to the capital. Families returning from Umrah in Makkah, work travellers and relatives visiting each other use it. Rest stops across the open plateau are worth planning in advance.

By road it is about 1,350 km and usually takes 16 to 19 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on Highway 50 and Highway 40. The road passes Hafr Al Batin and Al Jahra.
