The Drive from Bahrain to Madinah
Visitors heading to the Prophet's Mosque usually leave Bahrain early so they reach Madinah in daylight and can pray without rushing. The route crosses the King Fahd Causeway and then runs inland through open desert, taking 13 to 15 hours. Ask for a rest and prayer stop at a large roadside service area, which makes the long middle stretch easier.
By road it is about 1,300 km and usually takes 13 to 15 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on Highway 65 and Highway 40. The road passes Al Khobar, Dhahran and Dammam.
