From the Airport to Muscat

Families, business visitors and tourists use this road to reach Muscat, heading east to the mountain town of Hatta, crossing into Oman and continuing past Sohar. The route is mostly modern highway, with Hajar mountain scenery in places and the sea on the later stretch. Make sure everyone carries valid travel documents, and plan a lunch or prayer break in Sohar.

By road it is about 430 km and usually takes 6 to 7 hours, plus time at the border. Most of the way is on E44. The road passes Sohar.

Dubai International Airport serves Dubai from the east side of the city, near Deira and Garhoud, and is used by travellers on local, regional and long-haul flights.
