The Drive from Muscat to Sur
Sur is a dhow-building port on Oman's eastern coast, and the road follows the shore past Quriyat, with turn-offs for Wadi Shab and Wadi Tiwi on the way. Passengers include families, divers and visitors heading to the Ras Al Jinz turtle reserve nearby. Start in the morning if you want time at the wadis, since the afternoon heat makes the stops less pleasant.
